SINGING LESSONS
All singing teaching takes place in the peaceful studio in CANTO at CHARTSIDE, The Avenue, Kingston, Lewes BN7 3LL
For students aged 16 and upwards, from absolute beginners to post-graduate level and beyond,
lessons are given Monday - Wednesday between 9.15am and 600 pm in term times.
Lessons concentrate initially on establishing a fundamental understanding of breath management and support and providing each student with all the essentials for keeping the voice healthy.
- TACKLING PERFORMANCE NERVES
Through one-to-one lessons and performance practice recitals, many issues of performance nerves can be overcome, leaving you free to enjoy using your voice.
I offer bespoke practice opportunities for those with upcoming auditions and for all students wishing to gain experience singing in front of an audience.
Students find that performing regularly in a safe, friendly and supportive environment is one of the most effective ways to boost both confidence and manage performance nerves.

- AUDITIONS

Help can be given with entry auditions for Music Conservatoires, applying for Choral Scholarships and School Scholarships, and with auditions for local choral societies and choirs etc.

- ACCOMPANISTS
|
Experienced accompanists for lessons and examinations can be supplied as necessary and I can also arrange to have your own personal accompaniments recorded for home practice.

- FEES
From April 2026, Individual lessons are £62.00 per hour (or £275 for 5 when booked and paid for in advance)
In some circumstances, concessions can be available at Canto’s discretion.
Block-booked lessons need to be taken up within 3/4 months generally - but there is flexibility if necessary
Barring illnesses and emergencies, last minute cancellations and no-shows need to be paid for.

THEORY, AURAL and KODÁLY
- THEORY and AURAL tuition available
- KODÁLY Basic 'Kodály ‘Inner Hearing’ techniques can be explored to give strong support to the development of Sight-Singing skills.
